Expanded PTFE Gaskets – High-Performance Sealing Solutions

Expanded PTFE (ePTFE) is a modified version of polytetrafluoroethylene, developed to ensure high sealing performance across a wide range of industrial applications. Thanks to its microcellular structure with multidirectional fibers, expanded PTFE offers excellent conformability, outstanding chemical resistance, and dimensional stability, even under extreme temperature and pressure conditions.

This material is completely chemically inert and resistant to substances within a pH range of 0 to 14, except for molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine at high temperatures. Additionally, it does not age, can be stored indefinitely, and maintains its properties even after extended use.

Flange Applications

Expanded PTFE gaskets are particularly suitable for sealing flanges made from various materials, ensuring high sealing performance even at low bolt load conditions.

Compatible Flange Types:

  • Steel flanges: High mechanical strength and dimensional stability.
  • Plastic flanges: Perfect adaptability to surfaces thanks to its flexibility.
  • Glass-lined flanges: Superior conformability that prevents flange breakage.
  • PTFE or rubber-coated flanges: Maintains coating integrity due to low contact pressure.

Thanks to its high compressibility and resistance to creep, expanded PTFE is ideal for irregular sealing surfaces or critical connections, reducing leakage risks even in environments with highly permeable fluids.

Advantages of Expanded PTFE Gaskets

  • Universal chemical resistance: Compatible with most chemical substances.
  • Excellent adaptability: Ensures a perfect seal even on irregular flange surfaces.
  • Long-term reliability: Resistant to aging and environmental factors.
  • High sealing performance even at low bolt loads: Ideal for delicate flange materials.
  • Reduced maintenance costs: Minimizes the need for frequent retightening.

Expanded PTFE gaskets represent an innovative solution for ensuring sealing, safety, and durability in the most demanding industrial applications.
