As a result, FMI is able to provide a wide range of high quality sealing products.
Planichem produces a wide range of metallic and semi-metallic gaskets which are manufactured according to international standards (Asme, DIN, BS, JIS etc.) and also according to customers drawings or specifications.
These types of gaskets are typically used to face high pressure and high temperature. For example, on heat exchangers or any pressurized equipment used in industries such as power generation, oil&gas, petchem, etc.
The whole production chain is run in FMI’s site at Erbusco (Italy): laser cutting, winding machines for spirals, machine for cammprofile, CNC, and even a painting tunnel to apply epoxy paint on carbon steel parts allow FMI to produce these goods in complete autonomy.
There are several materials used such us AISI 316L, Duplex, Super Duplex, AISI 321, Monel, Inconel and so on; every semi-finished product is checked by our quality department by a PMI Inspection (Positive Material Identification).

Filler or layer materials include graphite, ptfe, mica or ceramic depending on working conditions and chemical compatibility.
The product range consists of:

- carrier ring
- ring joints
- lens gaskets
- lip seals
- diaphragm gaskets
These products are manufactured according to international standards and their size can vary from ½” to over 4 meters diameter.
Technical support during the design of the plant or the equipment, trouble shooting, bolt torque calculation, and on-field assistance during gaskets installation are all services provided by FMI.
